Huntingdon Takes Down Belhaven

Jackson, Miss.-Huntingdon Women's Soccer secured their first win of the season, defeating Belhaven 2-1.

Goals from Erin Cembrale and Jadyn Helm and 4 saves by Kiki Culpepper propelled the Hawks to a win.

"We're very happy with such a great result going into a back-to-back weekend. Belhaven was a strong opponent and I was happy to see us come to battle right out of the gate," Head Coach Cliff Jordan said.

"The younger players stepped up this game from start to finish and rose to the occasion. Our returners knew the task at hand and they assisted as a unit in keeping our composure and bringing the energy to get the result," Jordan said.

The Hawks are back in action tomorrow, 9/12, for their home opener against Oglethorpe. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
