Huntingdon women soar past Maryville

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team beat Maryville 9-0 on Saturday to improve to 3-0 in the USA South Athletic Conference.
The Lady Hawks improved to 6-3 overall while Maryville dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Huntingdon opened Saturday by taking all three doubles matches.
The No. 1 team of Mariah Bastos and Dusty Catala won 8-0. Heather Tabor and Josie Waddell teamed together at No. 2 and won 8-2. At No. 3, Caroline McBroom and Kacey Stephens took an 8-1 win.
The Lady Hawks won all six singles matches in straight sets. Waddell (No. 2) won 6-0, 6-0 at and Jordan Fleming (No. 6) won 6-0, 6-0.
Catala (No. 1) won 6-1, 6-1, Bastos (No. 3) won 6-2, 6-2, McBroom (No. 4) won 6-1, 6-1 and Clayton Waring (No. 5) won 6-2, 6-0.
Huntingdon hosts LaGrange on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
