Hawks Split Tri-Match with Piedmont and Maryville

Demorest, Ga.-The Huntingdon Volleyball team defeated Piedmont, 3-0 and lost to Maryville, 3-2 in a conference tri-match hosted by Piedmont. The Hawks are now 14-15 overall and 10-6 in conference.

Vs. Piedmont:

The Hawks handled Piedmont in 3 straight sets, winning 25-18, 25-23, and 25-20. 

Jessi Hilyer led the team with 22 assists while Audrey Horsley led with 24 digs. Addie Jacobs collected 12 kills and Morgan Ilsley had 10.

Jordan Hollis had 2 solo blocks and 2 block assists. Kamea Nash totalled 2 service aces, 9 kills, and 17 digs.

Vs. Maryville:

A back-and-forth match against Maryville resulted in the Scots taking set 5. The Hawks took set 1, 25-22, before Maryville took set 2, 25-16. Huntingdon recovered in set 3, winning 25-20. Maryville took set 4, 25-9, and set 5 for the win, 15-11. 

Morgan Ilsley led the team with 24 digs and 9 kills on 40 total attempts while Kamea Nash totalled 14 digs and 8 kills on 40 total attempts. Jessi Hilyer collected 21 assists. Jordan Hollis had 4 block assists while both Kennedy Chambers and Morgan Ilsley had 3.
