Huntingdon announces spectator policy for outdoor athletic events

Huntingdon College is a member of the USA South Athletic Conference which announced on Friday that it has established a Conference policy limiting spectators attending any outdoor USA South sporting event to the students, faculty, and staffs of the host institution, noting that member institutions are allowed to adopt more strict policies.

The USA South announcement noted that "Limiting spectators to those within the host's campus community will assist in maintaining the health and safety protocols which are required by those campuses.  As has been the case throughout the year-long effort to provide athletic opportunities for all USA South student-athletes, institutional staffs remain focused solely on maintaining the health and safety of those participating in the events."

Huntingdon College will limit on campus spectators for all outdoor athletic contests to currently enrolled Huntingdon College students in consideration of both previously published pandemic protocols and the announced USA South Conference policy.

No faculty, staff, non-affiliated individuals, nor Huntingdon affiliates not currently approved for on-Campus presence will be allowed on Campus as spectators.

While we realize that this is disappointing to families and fans of our student-athletes and our athletic teams, we believe this gives these student-athletes the best opportunity to complete their respective seasons and compete at the highest levels.
