Hawks Sweep Richard Bland and Wake Tech On Final Day Of Spartanburg Tournament

SPARTANBURG, Sc.- To cap off the Spartanburg Methodist Tournament, Huntingdon beach volleyball (5-12 overall) took down Richard Bland in their first match of the day 3-2, which they followed with a 4-1 victory over Wake Tech. See below for the pairing matches results.

Match one

• Veronica Tikhimirova and Izzy Valldeperas were defeated by Alexis Scipione and Sarah Heath in three sets, winning the first 21-14 and losing the next two 21-16 and 15-9

• Ariel Helmick and Ashlen Janowski were defeated by Leilani Goggin and Aubrey Hyndshaw in three sets, dropping the first 21-19, winning the second 21-17, and losing the third 15-13

• Lindsey Holland and Caroline Foote defeated Jordan Schlageter and Morgan Green in three sets, winning the first 21-9, dropping the second 21-16, and rallying to win the third 15-13

• Bea Lindquist and Eva Ellenburg defeated Phoebe Heath and Peyton Ostenson 21-18 and 21-11

• Lydia Hitchcock and Lily VanDyke defeated Addison White and Kiley Pickett in three sets, winning the first 21-19, losing the second 21-19, but winning the third 16-14

Match two

• Veronica Tikhimirova and Izzy Valldeperas defeated Gabi Carter and Brooke Geiger 21-7 and 21-14

• Ashlen Janowski and Caroline Foote defeated Abby Carver and Olivia Garzelloni 21-13 and 21-11

• Ariel Helmick and Lindsey Holland were defeated by Marcy Oros and Joey Starkweather in three sets, dropping the first 21-13, winning the second 21-17, and losing the third 15-6

• Eva Ellenburg and Bea Lindquist defeated Kennedy George and Cicily Wallace 21-15 and 21-9

• Lydia Hitchcock and Lily VanDyke defeated Molly Clabby and Megan Rivenbark 21-16 and 21-8

The Hawks look to continue their strong play on March 16th in the second Huntingdon Beach Bash against Berry. Matches are set to begin at 8:00 AM CT.
