Hawks Fall To Berry And Spring Hill But Defeat Emmanuel In the Second Huntingdon Beach Bash

MONTGOMERY,Ala.- In their second home tournament of the season, Huntingdon beach volleyball(6-14 overall) fell to the Berry Vikings (7-10 overall), and Spring Hill(7-8 overall), but took down Emmanuel College(7-5 overall) to round out the tournament.

Prior to the start of the Emmanuel game, the Huntingdon beach volleyball seniors Bea Lindquist and Caroline Foote were recognized for their success both on and off of the court throughout their undergraduate careers.

Match 1: Berry- 5, Huntingdon- 0

• Izzy Valldeperas and Veronica Tikhomirova were defeated by Kaylee Howell and Becky Blades 21-15 and 21-14

• Ariel Helmick and Lindsey Holland were defeated by Kat Kelyman and Grace Mau 21-18 and 21-19

• Bea Lindquist and Eva Ellenburg were defeated by Lindsey Macblarmed and Sabine Rudolph in three sets, dropping the first 21-18, winning the second 21-19, and losing the third 15-12

• Lily Vandyke and Lydia Hitchcock were defeated by Olivia Mallow and Andrea Hurt 21-12 and 21-8

• In set one, Destin Roberts and Carryne Chancey were defeated by Kate Whittle and Madie Whitehead 21-17, and in set two Molly Wilson and Gracie Wallace were defeated 22-20

Match 2: Huntingdon-3, Emmanuel-2

• Izzy Valldeperas and Veronica Tikhomirova defeated Ella Johns and Jayla Bland 21-13 and 21-11

• Ashlen Janowski and Caroline Foote were defeated by Isabela Zokaulska and Ellie Jackson 21-9 and 24-22

• Ariel Helmick and Lindsey Holland defeated Lauren Pace and Bri Bigelow in three sets,losing the first 21-15, and winning the next two 21-6 and 15-13

• Bea Lindquist and Eva Ellenburg defeated Rachel McGlammery and Cailin Pritchard 21-19 and 22-20

• Lydia Hitchcock and Lily VanDyke were defeated by Aaliyah Labedahn and Hannah Farrar 21-19 in both sets

• Gracie Wallace and Carryne Chancey defeated Maya Hedden and Abby Carver 21-15 and 21-18

Match 3: Spring Hill- 4, Huntingdon- 1

• Izzy Valldeperas and Veronica Tikhomirova were defeated by Mikayla Boyer and Mia Saavedra 21-13 and 21-11

• Ashlen Janowski and Caroline Foote were defeated by Linnea Beyer and Alessandra Lane 21-13 and 21-12

• Lindsey Holland and Ariel Helmick were defeated by Jaylene Bell and Ashlyn Whiteside 21-10 and 21-17

• Bea Lindquist and Eva Ellenburg were defeated by Elizabeth Hardovin and Lily Mescori 21-16 and 21-14

• Lydia Hitchcock and Lily VanDyke defeated Isabella Muti and Lillie Casey 21-16 and 21-19

• In set one, Destin Roberts and Carryne Chancey were defeated by Cassidy Granger and Emma Grace Payne 21-19 and in set two Molly Wilson and Gracie Wallace were defeated by Prisca Garner and Emma Grace Payne 21-12

The Hawks resume action after Spring Break on March 22nd at the Berry College Tournament. Their first match against Stevenson is scheduled for 11:00 AM CT.
