Weather changes weekend sports schedule

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The weather forecast for rain on Saturday has forced changes to Huntingdon's athletic schedule this weekend.

The two changes so far involve baseball and softball.

The baseball team was originally scheduled to play the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The revised schedule calls for a doubleheader on Friday, beginning at 4 p.m. , no game on Saturday and a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.

Softball's season-opening doubleheader with Berry, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed. The game is set to be made up on April 22.

A decision on Saturday's tennis matches is expected to be made on Friday. The men's and women's tennis teams are scheduled to host Louisiana College.

Huntingdon's remaining home events for this weekend are still on schedule. Men's tennis is set to host Tuskegee at 1 p.m. on Friday and men's lacrosse is set to debut at Samford Stadium on Saturday. The lacrosse team hosts Oglethorpe at 1 p.m.

Also on Saturday, it will be Senior Day for the men's and women's basketball teams. The women host Piedmont at 2 p.m. and the men host Piedmont at 4 p.m. The JV women's basketball team hosts Oakwood on Sunday at 2 p.m.
