Huntingdon names football team captains

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – Huntingdon head coach Mike Turk officially announced the football team captains on Wednesday.

Four seniors were selected from a vote of their teammates. The 2017 captains are quarterback Chip Taylor, running back Vic Jerald and defensive backs Anthony Wood and Austin Washington.

"Looking at them as a group, it was pretty clear cut in the voting," Turk said. "I'm proud of them. Each of them has his own strengths and weaknesses, but they understand the responsibility that comes with wearing that C on their shirt. They each looked me in the eye and told me they were willing to accept that responsibility."

Huntingdon opens the season on Saturday at home against Guilford College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
