Huntingdon tied for 1st in West Division in USA South preseason football poll

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  – The Huntingdon College football team enters the season tied for first in the West Division in the USA South Athletic Conference preseason poll.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the USA South football teams will not play a full conference schedule but will instead play conference games within their division. The East Division champion and the West Division champion will meet in a conference championship game scheduled for April 3.

As a result, this year's conference preseason poll is split into divisional polls.

In the West Division, 2019 USA South champion Huntingdon is tied for first in the West Division with Brevard and Maryville. Each team received one first-place vote and three points.

In the East Division, Averett and North Carolina Wesleyan are tied for first. Each team received two first-place votes and eight points. Methodist is third with five points and Greensboro is fourth with three points.

Huntingdon opens the season at home against Brevard on Feb. 20
