Tucker Spence led the defense with 11 total tackles, including a sack for a loss of 7 yards.

"The defense really stood out for me today, knowing we have room to work on offense with them making the stops really helps give us confidence," Kahari McReynolds said.

"We really went to work in practice this week to improve on things from last week and I'm really proud of everyone's performance today," Landon Cotney said. "When the defense is getting shutouts and giving us good field position, it gives us the momentum before we even step out onto the field."

"We really played together as a defense and just tried to have fun out there," Tucker Spence said. "We just focus on ourselves and take that experience into next week against NC Wesleyan."

"I'm really proud of the defense; they really earned that shutout," Head Coach Mike Turk said. "It was a good team win and I'm proud of the guys."

The Hawks travel to NC Wesleyan on Saturday, November 5th. Kickoff is set for 11:00 AM CST.
