Huntingdon men open season with loss at Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team opened the season with a 93-73 loss to Sewanee on Friday night.

The Hawks (0-1) hung with Sewanee (1-0) for most of the first half, but fell behind just before halftime and never recovered. Huntingdon trailed by five points, 40-35, with less than three minutes remaining in the opening half. Sewanee closed the half with a 13-0 run. The Tigers continued to control the game in the second half.

Raheem Berry led Huntingdon with 16 points and Andre Ashley had 13 points and a team-high nine rebounds. R.J. Jones added 12 points.

The Hawks will host Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
