Hawks come up short at Methodist

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team lost to Methodist University 86-75 on Tuesday.

The Hawks played from behind for almost the entire game but never trailed by more than 10 points until the final four minutes of the game. Huntingdon cut the Monarchs' lead to one point, 58-57, with 9:14 to play in the game. But Methodist pulled ahead and put the game away late.

Caleb Toney led Huntingdon with 13 points and nine rebounds and Aaron Washington had 13 points. Damien Madison and Charvez' Hobson each had 10 points and James Harris and Ceaunte Zachery each had eight points. Harris also had eight rebounds, four assists and three steals and Hobson had six rebounds.

The Hawks fell behind by as many as 10 points in the first half but battled back and took their first lead of the game with 5:04 left before halftime. Huntingdon trailed 37-31 at halftime.

Huntingdon outscored the Monarchs 15-7 in the opening minutes of the second half and took a 46-44 lead. Methodist regained the lead, but the Hawks continued to keep pace until the final minutes.
