Huntingdon knocks off LaGrange for first win of the season

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team earned its first win of the season with an 82-70 win over LaGrange on Saturday.

After falling to the Panthers 97-78 on Thursday, Huntingdon took control in the second half of Saturday's victory. The Hawks ued a 16-5 run in the final nine minutes of the game to turn a two-point lead into a 13-point lead. Huntingdon led by as many as 15 points in the final minutes.

Leading 59-57 with a little more than eight minutes to play, Sam Page and Dylan Bohling combined to score the first nine points of the decisive run. A basket by Ceaunte Zachery, two free throws from Damien Madison and a 3-pointer by Caleb Toney put the Hawks in front 75-62 with a little more than three minutes remaining.

Five Hawks finished in double figures, with Madison scoring a game-high 20 points. Page added 14 points and James Harris recorded a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds to go with four assists.

Toney had 10 points and seven rebounds and Bohling had 10 points, five rebounds and two blocks. Zachery finished with six points, six rebounds and four assists and Graham Martin had eight points.
