Hawks Fall to Piedmont in Overtime

Demorest, Ga.-Huntingdon Men's Basketball was defeated by Piedmont University 90-84 in overtime. The Hawks are now 6-8 overall and 0-3 in conference.

After falling behind 38-22 at halftime, the Hawks tied the game 53-53 with 9 minutes left in the second half. Huntingdon took the lead 62-60 before Piedmont came back to tie it again. The back and forth battle continued, leading to overtime with both teams tied at 75. 

The Hawks fell behind 77-75 just 20 seconds into overtime and were never able to make a comeback, adding only 9 points in overtime against Piedmont's 15. 

Damien Madison led the team with 19 points, including 3 assists and 1 steal. Keondre Davis had 15 points while Caleb Toney had 12. Justin Johnson had a team-leading 9 rebounds. The Hawks outrebounded Piedmont 60-44 and collected 25 points off of rebounds. 

The Hawks travel to Covenant tomorrow, January 22nd, for a 3:00 PM CST tip-off.
