Montgomery, Alabama – In the Collegiate Conference of the South matchup the Hawks (1-13 overall, 0-2 CCS) dropped their second conference game to the Lions of Piedmont (7-6 overall, 1-1 CCS) with a final score of 81-52.
A quick four-points by the Hawks gave them the early lead and forced a timeout by Piedmont. The Lions quickly tied the game with 15 minutes remaining the first half at 6 points but Sam Page responded with a made three to take back the Hawk lead (9-6). Piedmont took their first lead at 12 minutes with a made three to go up by 2 (12-10). Then again, the Hawks were able to tie the game at 14 before the Lions went on a 7-0 run and brought the score to 21-14. Both teams traded baskets until a made three by Austin Linville brought the Hawks within 3 (28-25) with 3:30 left. Huntingdon went down by 7 heading into halftime. The Lions went on a 9-5 run in the first 5 minutes of the second half to secure their lead for the remainder of the game.
