Hawks Fall to Centenary in Day 1 Of Hawks Classic
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Huntingdon men's basketball (1-1 Overall) fell to the Centenary College Gents (2-2 overall) 89-70 on day 1 of the Hawks Classic.

First Half

Centenary started off the game hot on an 8-1 run.Centenary benefited from 5 early Huntingdon turnovers.

After falling behind 22-4, Huntingdon went on a run of their own, with buckets from Max Gardner and Randall Davis bringing the score to 22-13.

Centenary stayed hot, holding a 31-18 lead with 3:19 remaining in the half.

A poster dunk from Randall Davis brought Huntingdon within 10 with 1:40 remaining in the first half, but the Hawks would still go into the half down 36-25.
Second Half

Much like the first half, Centenary came out of the break shooting well, pushing their lead to 45-28 at the 17:10 mark.

With 16:04 left in the game, Bj Brown and Max Gardner would lead a 5 point swing in favor of the Hawks, bringing the Centenary lead down to 45-35.

The Gents would go on a 9-0 run, pushing their lead back to 54-35 at the 12:48 mark.

Huntingdon continued to battle, going on a 6-0 run to bring the Hawks within 18 with 6:20 left, down 69-51.

Ultimately, the hot shooting from Centenary would be too much for the Hawks to overcome, and the Hawks would be defeated 89-70.
