Huntingdon’s Thrash finishes 7 strokes out of 1st in Royal Lakes Inv.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Huntingdon sophomore Will Thrash shot a 1-over-par 73 in each round of the Royal Lakes Invitational and finished seven strokes out of first.

Thrash tied for 14th with a 2-over 146. Southwestern University's Tyler Gammill was the tournament medalist with a 5-under 139. Three golfers tied for second at 2-under 142.

As a team, Huntingdon finished 11th. After shooting 304 in the first round, the Hawks shot 306 on Tuesday to finish with a two-round total of 610. Oglethorpe was the tournament champion at 578 and Southwestern was the runner-up at 579.

Behind Thrash, junior David James shot 155 for the tournament, freshman Jon Colten Stanaland shot 157, senior Steven Smith shot 158 and freshman Peter Scrimgeour shot 159.

Playing as individuals, freshman Alan Anderson shot 151 and freshman Seth Johnson shot 166.

The Hawks return to action on Sunday in the Golfweek D3 Invitational.
