Hawks in 5th after Rd. 1 of Wynlakes Intercollegiate

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's golf team shot 304 in the opening round of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate on Monday.

The Hawks are in fifth entering Tuesday's final round at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club. LaGrange College and Guilford College are tied for first at 293, Rhodes College is third at 295 and California Lutheran is fourth at 300.

Sophomore Garrett Harrison led Huntingdon with a 1-over-par 73 in the first round. Harrison is four strokes off the lead and tied for seventh. Guilford's Harrison Frye leads the field at 3-under 69.

Huntingdon junior David James and freshman Mac Harris are tied for 18th at 4-over 76. Sophomore Will Thrash shot 79 in the opening round and senior Steven Smith shot 81.

Playing as individuals, Huntingdon freshman Alan Anderson is tied for 12th with a 3-over 75 and freshman Jon Colten Stanaland shot a 5-over 77. Also playing as individuals, freshman Seth Johnson shot 85 and freshman Peter Scrimgeour shot 87.
