Burt, Hinds and Meilunas named to USA South All-Conference men’s golf team

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  – Three Huntingdon men's golfers earned All-Conference honors with the release of the USA South Athletic Conference men's golf awards on Wednesday.

Owen Burt was named first-team All-Conference and Walker Hinds and Peter Meilunas were named second- team All-Conference. Carson Whitton was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

Burt leads Huntingdon with a scoring average of 72.46 in 13 rounds this season and five rounds of par-or-better. He has two rounds in the 60s, shooting 3-under 69 in the Savannah Invitational and 3-under 69 in the Wynlakes Intercollegiate.

Hinds and Meilunas are tied for the team's second best scoring average at 73.69 in 13 rounds. Hinds also has five rounds of par-or-better and two rounds in the 60s. He shot 3-under 69 in the Savannah Invitational and 3-under 69 in the Jekyll Island Invitational.

Meilunas, in his first collegiate season, has three rounds of par-or-better and a low round of 71 twice. He shot 1-under 71 in the Savannah Invitational and in the Jekyll Island Invitational.

Pfeiffer's Kevin Burris was named Player of the Year, Methodist freshman Cooper Hrabak was named Rookie of the Year and Methodist's Steve Conley was named Coach of the Year.
