Hawks open season with win over Dallas

IRVING, Texas. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team built an eight-goal lead on Saturday and knocked off the University of Dallas 10-5 in the season opener for both teams.

Huntingdon scored the first four goals of the game and carried a 6-1 lead into halftime. Huntingdon built its biggest lead of the game early in the fourth quarter after back-to-back goals by Seth Howe made it 10-2.

Bryce Coates led Huntingdon with three goals. Howe, Caleb Bohrer and Kendrick Ballard each scored two goals and Adrian Harper had one goal. Miles Stading had two assists and Zach Barnhill and Austen Saucier each had one assist.

Coates and Harper each had two caused turnovers. Sam Hitt was 15-for-19 on faceoffs and recorded nine ground balls.

Goalie Matt Murphy recorded six saves and allowed five goals in 60 minutes.
