Birmingham, Alabama – The Hawks (1-1) fell to Birmingham Southern (2-0) with a final score of 22-8.
Caden Bacz struck first for the Hawks to take the first lead of the night with 12:34 on the clock (1-0). BSC quickly answered back, scoring in less than a minute to tie the game at one. Ryan Campion stepped up for the Hawks to score under the ten-minute mark but the next three goals would come from the Panthers to take their first lead of the night at 4-2. Ian Bruggeman shot one in for the Hawks to cut the lead to one heading into the second quarter (4-3). The Panthers scored 5 goals in the second quarter to create distance from the Hawks (9-3). In the second half the Hawks were outscored 13-5 as they dropped to BSC in their second game of the season.
