Hawks Lose Close Contest at Oglethorpe

Brookhaven, Georgia – The Hawks (1-2) fell at Oglethorpe University in their third game of the season 11-10.

The first period was all Hawks as goals from Gage Kettlewell, Ian Bruggeman, Kelcey Martson, Kole Andres, and Ryan Campion lifted them up 5-0. Oglethorpe was able to score one goal with 27 seconds left in the first period (5-1).

 

In the second, Huntingdon found it a bit more difficult to score as the Petrels began to claim a comeback with two goals. Kettlewell scored his second goal of the night at the five-minute mark before heading to halftime up 6-2.

 

After the half, Oglethorpe landed four goals in the third period to escape the hole they dug in the first. The Hawks Kettlewell scored his third goal and Bruggeman scored his second, assisted by Brady Moulton. The score heading into the final period was 8-7, Hawks.

 

The Hawks fell in the fourth being outscored 4-2. A late goal by Kelcey Martson with 1:40 left did not give Huntingdon enough time to tie the game before they fell to the Petrels.
