Pfeiffer's Hot Start Too Much For The Hawks

MISENHEIMER,NC.- Huntingdon men's lacrosse(3-9 overall, 1-2 USA South) was taken down by the Pfeiffer University Falcons(5-6 overall, 3-0 USA South) 25-5 in a road matchup. A 12 point opening quarter put the Hawks in a hole early that they could not match.

 

Highlights

The Falcons came out of the gates hot, scoring five goals in the opening six minutes. They remained aggressive throughout the quarter on each end of the field, earning a 12-1 lead after the first quarter of play, with Huntingdon's lone goal coming from Gage Kettlewell at the 5:32 mark.. Pfeiffer opened the second quarter much like they did the first, scoring six unanswered goals to hold an 18-1 advantage with two minutes remaining in the half. Connor Angst scored in the final minute of the quarter to put Huntingdon behind 18-2 entering the second half.The Falcons struck first to begin the second half, but Connor Angst responded with his second goal of the afternoon at the 13:05 mark off an assist from Landen Conrad to bring the score to 19-3. Pfeiffer answered back with two consecutive goals to extend their lead to 21-3 by the 12 minute mark, but Kelcey Marston put in his first goal of the game to make the score 21-4 by the 9:59 mark. The Falcons closed the quarter with another goal to enter the final period with a 22-4 lead. Pfeiffer outscored the Hawks 3-1 in the final quarter, with Connor Angst earning the Hawks only goal to take a 25-5 victory.
