MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team fell to LaGrange 1-0 in overtime on Wednesday night to close out the regular season.
Despite the loss, Huntingdon still has a chance to qualify for its first appearance in the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament. The top eight teams qualify for the conference tournament. The Hawks (3-11-3, 2-6-2 USA South) are currently the eighth seed.
The outcome of Thursday's Averett-William Peace match will determine Huntingdon's fate. A tie or a win by Averett and the Hawks will remain the eighth seed. A win by Peace will knock Huntingdon to ninth.
Killian Delmore led the Hawks with four shots and one shot on goal against LaGrange (3-14, 2-8 USA South).
Dylan Wier and Zach Dedman both had two shots and one shot on goal. Brendon Van Emelen recorded three shots and Cam Smith and Karter Porter each had one shot.
Dominique Thomas finished with two saves and one goal allowed.
