Hawks Compete at CCS Championship

DEMOREST, Ga. - Huntingdon Cross Country concluded their season at the CCS Conference Championships this Saturday at Tallulah Falls School Cross Country Course.

Hosted by Piedmont University, the second CCS Cross Country Championship was defined by tough terrain and brutal conditions for all competitors.

The Men's team would only have 4 runners cross the finish line, disqualifying them from team placement. Blake Bailey finished first for the Hawks with a time of 29:42 for the 8k race, followed by Levi Garret with a 34:13, Ryan Cole with a 39:16, and Dylan McCellan with a 40:32.

Junior Kate Smith led the Women's team to a fourth place finish, edging out Agnes Scott and Maryville by one and two points respectively. Smith would finish 17th overall with a time of 28:01 for the 6k, followed by Michaela Moore with a 29:47, Breanna Smith with a 30:40, Rhiannon Sevier with a 31:43, Abigail Brammer with a 37:34, Sydney Thompson with a 38:55, and Aleah Vess with a 38:56.
