Montgomery, Alabama – The Hawks, now 6-0 overall defeated Centre (1-5 overall) and Fontbonne (1-1 overall) to claim day one of their tournament.
Game 1: Huntingdon 9 – Centre 0
In a five inning game, Holly Sharp pitched four to earn her second win for the Hawks this season, only allowing two hits.
Offensively the Hawks took off in the bottom of the second inning after two batters got on base and Miranda Treadway singled to bring in one and put Huntingdon on the board. Following Treadway, Navaeh McIntyre doubled to bat in two runners and head into the third inning 3-0. Another RBI from Treadway after a double gave Huntingdon the momentum. Ellie Lorance stepped in to bat next with a sacrifice fly to extend their lead to five. In the fourth inning, four Hawks batters earned rbi's after two doubles and two singles that were unanswered by Centre to end the game in five innings with a score of 9-0.

Game 2: Huntingdon 9 – Fontbonne 0
The Hawks scoring began in the bottom of the first as Maddie Grace Hubbard doubled to left field and brought in two runners. Bailey Murphy joined with a double of her own to bring in one runner and head to the second inning up 3-0. With two outs, Hubbard singled to bring in Kamryn Miller on second. Jordan Holman came to the plate and doubled to score Hubbard and Brooke Stefankiewicz to extend the Hawks lead to 6-0. Huntingdon's final runs came in the fourth with a double from Bailey Murphy and a triple from Riley Rudick to shoot them up 9-0 and close out the game in five innings.

The Hawks return to Lucinda Cannon Field on Sunday February 19th at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM CST to take on Fontbonne and Centre in day two of the Huntingdon Softball Tournament.
