Allie Roberts Pitches No Hitter In Hawks Historic Season Opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- In their season opener, Huntingdon softball (2-0) overall, swept the Rhodes Lynx (0-2 overall) in a double header, winning the first game 8-0 and the second 13-3.

With these two wins, Head Coach Casey Chrietzberg has surpassed 150 total career wins coaching the Hawks. "It's a special moment," said Coach Chrietzberg. "I am incredibly honored to have accomplished this alongside my Seniors who have been here for the last 4 seasons. It's rare to find people with such a high level of commitment at times, so I want to recognize Brooke Stefankiewicz, Nevaeh McIntyre, and Dani Holt for being with me the past few years and today."

Additionally, Freshman Allie Roberts threw a no hitter in the Hawks inaugural game of the season and her first game in the circle for the Hawks. The Auburn, Alabama native pitched 42 strikes on 54 pitches, fueling the Hawks dominant performance.

Coach Casey On Roberts performance:

"I couldn't be more proud of Allie. She is in equal parts talented and driven, and her work ethic in the preseason to accomplish something this remarkable so quickly is not a surprise to me. She works unbelievably hard and I am beyond excited for her and what she will continue to do for our program."
