MONTGOMERY, Ala. - With a stellar performance, Huntingdon Softball (4-0) swept the Colonels of Centre College(0-4) 15-1 and 10-2 The Hawks started out hot, combining excellent batting with strong defense to earn the two victories.

Game 1: Huntingdon- 15, Centre- 1

Highlights

• Hawks scored first in the bottom of the first inning as Bailey Murphy hit a double into right field, sending Brooke Stefankiewicz home. 

• Shortly after, Miranda Treadway singled to right field, sending Bailey Murphy to home plate, putting the Hawks up 2-0. 

• In the next at bat, Sydney Sellers hit a homerun sending both Treadway and herself around the bases putting the Hawks up 4-0. 

• In the top of the second inning, Riley Bentley of the Colonels hit a double out to center field, sending teammate Layne Ogle home, making the score 4-1

• In the bottom of the second inning, Kylie Stephens sent a single out to right field, sending Maddie Grace Hubbard home, giving the Hawks the score of 5-1.

• In the bottom of the third, Riley Rudick doubled as Lauren Watz scored, changing the score to 3-1

• After, Maddie Grace Hubbard doubled to left field, advanced to third base on an error by 3B. Rudick scores. 7-1

•  Brooke Stefankiewicz singled, advanced to second base which allowed Kamryn Miller to score for the Hawks. 8-1

• After, Kylie Stephens doubled to left field, sending both Brooke Stefankiewicz and Kamryn Miller to score. Score 10-1

• In the bottom of the 4th inning, Riley Rudick hit a home run, sending Miranda Treadway along with herself around the bases, making the score 12-1.

• Kamryn Miller then singled, advanced to third, and Maddie Grace Hubbard ran home on an error by 3B. 13-1

• Brooke Stefankiewicz singled, advanced to second on an error by 2B as Kamryn Miller scored. 14-1

• Keelyn Johnson singles, Elli Lorence advances to second, Brooke Stefankiewicz scores. 15-1

On the Mound

• #33 Allie Roberts earned her second collegiate start, allowing only one hit and one run,throwing 43 strikes out of 69 pitches. 

Game 2: Huntingdon-10, Centre-2

Highlights

• In the bottom of the first the Hawks' Sydney Sellers singled to center field. Miranda Treadway advanced to third. Both Bailey Murphy and Jordan Holman score, setting the score at 2-0. 

• After, Maddie Grace Hubbard singled, and Riley Rudick advanced to second base. Both Kate Dinkle and Miranda Treadway score, bringing the score to 4-0.

• To close the first inning, Payton Gilchrist reached first on an error by SS, leading Jordan Holman and Kylie Stephens to score. 5-0

• In the top of the second inning, Layne Ogle of the Colonels  doubled to left field sending Regan Brownley to score, making the score 5-1

• In the bottom of the second inning, Bailey Murphy doubled to left field. Both Jordan Holman and Kylie Stehens scored. 7-1

• In the bottom of the third inning, Kylile Stephens singled to center field. Brooke Stefankiewicz scored. 8-1

• Miranda Treadway out at first, P to 2B. Bailey Murphy advanced to second, and Jordan Holman advanced to third. Kylie Stephens scored, bringing the score to 9-1

•  In the top of the 5th inning, Cheney Floyd homered. Score changes to 9-2

• In the bottom of the 6th inning, Katie Burch singled. Maddie Grace Hubbard advanced to second. Riley Rudick advanced to third. Lauren Watts scored. 10-2

On the Mound

• #13 Piper Messick started for the Hawks. Facing 17 batters, Messick threw 35 strikes on 67 pitches, giving up only one run with four hits. 

• #2 Aubree Flanagan faced 5 batters. Flanagan gave up two hits and one run. Flanagan threw 6 strikes in 12 pitches.

• 33 Allie Roberts closed out the game with 11 strikes on 12 pitches. Roberts only allowed two hits. 

The Hawks look to keep their winning streak alive on February 24th at home against Mount St. Joseph. Gametime is scheduled for 12:00 PM CT.
