This is the 14th season D3hoops has named All-Region teams and the first time a Lady Hawk has been recognized.

"This is a tremendous accomplishment for her and we're proud of her," Huntingdon women's basketball coach Buzz Phillips said. "She is a special player, who has worked hard on the court and in the classroom. You look at everything she has accomplished, and it speaks volumes about her. This is another great accomplishment in her illustrious career."

Pickens, who was also recently named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, received All-Conference recognition in each of her four seasons. As a freshman and sophomore, she was named to the All-Freshman team and the All-Conference team in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Anniston native rewrote the Lady Hawks' record book during her four seasons, setting 17 career, season and single-game marks. As a senior, she scored a program-record 497 points and became the Lady Hawks' career scoring leader with 1,473 points.

She also set program records for points per game (19.9), field goals made (185) and free throws made (126) as a senior and finished the season with 252 rebounds, 60 steals and 54 assists. Her rebound total is fourth best season total for the Lady Hawks and her 10.1 rebounds per game are second.

Pickens holds the career marks for field foals made (548), field-goal percentage (49.7), free throws made (376) and free-throw percentage (70.9) and ranks second in career steals (188), third in career rebounds (786) and fifth in career assists (156).

During her final season, she set the Lady Hawks' record for points in a game (37) and rebounds in a game (20). She ended her career with the program's top six single-game scoring marks, three of the top five single-season scoring performances and three of the top nine single-season rebounding performances.

Pickens was one of three USA South players named All-Region. Ferrum's Jacole Hairston, the USA South Player of the Year, was named first-team All-Region and Maryville's Mackenzie Puckett was named third-team All-Region.

Howard Payne's Danyel Bradley was named South Player of the Year and Hendrix's Sarah Dyslin was named South Rookie of the Year. Texas-Dallas coach Polly Thomason was named South Coach of the Year.
