Lady Hawks lose to William Peace in Cougar Tip-Off tournament

DANVILLE, Va. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team lost to William Peace 66-56 on Sunday in the Cougar Tip-Off Tournament.

The Lady Hawks fell behind midway through the first quarter and trailed 21-15 at the start of the second quarter. Huntingdon tied the game 24-24 with 4:52 left in the second quarter, but the Pacers closed the first half with an 11-2 run and carried a 35-26 lead into halftime.

William Peace maintained at least a seven-point lead for the entire second half.

Shaonica Thomas led Huntingdon with 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Keturah Billen had nine points, eight rebounds and three assists, Indya Lawrence had eight points and two blocks and Destiny Cross had eight points and five rebounds.          

 

Records: Huntingdon (0-3); William Peace (3-1)
