Lady Hawks open conference play with win at Wesleyan

MACON, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team scored the first 15 points of the game and cruised to an 80-36 win over Wesleyan on Wednesday night in the Lady Hawks' conference opener.

With the starters seeing limited time and 18 players earning playing time in the game, Huntingdon built a 29-point lead in the first half and led by as many as 52 points in the second half.

Freshman Alina Shoemake led Huntingdon with 15 points in 13 minutes and sophomore Kassidy Crawford had nine points and five rebounds in 15 minutes. Senior Shaonica Thomas had eight points and 10 rebounds in 15 minutes and senior Sidney Ison had eight points and six rebounds in 15 minutes. Junior Indya Lawrence had seven points and four assists in 16 minutes and freshman Destiny Cross had six rebounds.
