Huntingdon completes conference sweep of Wesleyan

MACON, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team downed Wesleyan College 69-47 on the road Saturday to wrap up a two-game conference sweep.

Huntingdon won the first game with the Wolves 73-41 on Thursday night at Roland Arena.

The Hawks opened the game with an 11-2 run and put the game away in the second quarter. After Wesleyan bounced back from the opening deficit, the Wolves cut Huntingdon's lead to one point, 15-14, in the opening seconds of the second quarter.

From there, it was all Huntingdon. The Hawks scored 16 straight points to take a 31-14 lead midway through the quarter. Huntingdon led 39-22 at halftime and continued to pull away in the second half.

Ry Whetstone led the Hawks with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds to go with four steals. Destiny Cross added 12 points and A.B. Davis had 10 points. Alina Shoemake pulled down eight rebounds and Janaiya Mintze had a game-high five steals.
