To begin the second quarter, the Hawks' leading scorer, Kinstin Davis attacked for a made layup that would be the only field goal for seven minutes for Huntingdon. However, the Hawks held Berea to only free-throws until they were able to score their first field goal with five minutes remaining in the half. McGruder and Davis traded baskets and were the only scorers for the Hawks in the second quarter. The sophomore's fight brought the Hawks back within five points going into halftime, 28-23.
