Hawks Season Ends At Maryville In First Round Of CCS Tournament
MARYVILLE, TENN- In the first round of the CCS tournament, Huntingdon women's basketball (12-15 overall, 8-9 CCS) fell on the road to the Maryville Scots (14-12, 9-3 CCS) 61-50.

First quarter

Despite Briana Stuckey scoring the first points of the game, the Scots jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the first 3 and a half minutes

4 consecutive points from Briana McGruder put the Hawks ahead 6-5

Lauryn Lyn drilled a jumpshot to push the Huntingdon lead to 12-5 with 2:05 remaining in the quarter

Maryville closed the quarter with a 8-2 run to reduce the Huntingdon lead to 14-13 entering the second period
Second quarter

After trading baskets and defensive stops to start the second quarter, Maryville took their first lead of the game, 19-18, with 5:53 left until halftime

The Hawks retook the lead on the following possession 20-19, but a Scot three pointer gave Maryville a 22-20 lead at the 5:40 mark

Briana Stuckey tied the game at 22 with 3:40 remaining in the half, but Maryville closed the quarter with a 6-2 run to hold a 28-24 lead going into the second half
Third quarter

Still battling, the two teams traded baskets to begin the half, but Kinstin Davis drilled a free throw at the 5:24 to put a small dent into the lead, making the score 30-27

The Scots responded with an 11-0 run to push their lead to 41-27 with two minutes remaining in the quarter

Two Maryville free throws in the final minute of the period put the Hawks behind 45-30 going into the final quarter
Fourth quarter

Makayla Ford opened the fourth quarter with a three pointer to reduce the deficit to 45-33 30 seconds in

Kinstin Davis capped off a 6-0 Hawk run with a jumpshot to cut the lead to 47-39 with 7 minutes to go

A 7-0 Scot run pushed the lead back to 54-39 at the 5:44 mark

Briana McGruder put in a layup at the 1:50 mark to make the score 59-47, but being forced to foul, the Hawks ran out of time, ending their season with a 61-50 loss
