Lady Hawks tied for 4th after Rd. 1 of Golfweek D3 Invitational

DESTIN, Fla. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 320 in the opening round of the Golfweek D3 Invitational on Sunday.

Entering Monday's second round at Baytowne Golf Club, the Lady Hawks are tied for fourth in the 18-team field. Mary Hardin-Baylor leads the field with a 314. Methodist and Wittenberg are tied for second at 316 and Huntingdon, defending national champion Rhodes, the University of Texas-Tyler and Berry are tied for fourth.

Huntingdon senior LeeAnn Cahoon shot 5-over-par 77 in the opening round. Cahoon is five strokes out of first and tied for eighth. Wittenberg's Jane Hopkinson-Wood turned in Sunday's best round with an even-par 72.

Behind Cahoon, sophomore Hallie Rice shot 80 in the opening round and junior Kelsey Spivey shot 81. Sophomore Katelyn Gilmore shot 82 and senior Courtney Harville shot 93.
