Hawks Road Trip Ends With Loss To Meredith

RALEIGH, NC.- In their final road USA South matchup of the season, Huntingdon women's lacrosse(2-10 overall, 2-6 USA South) fell to the Meredith Avenging Angels(10-6 overall, 7-1 USA South) 24-1.

The Avenging Angels opened the game on an offensive tear, scoring 13 goals in the first quarter while shutting down the Hawks attack to establish their large lead early. By halftime, the lead had grown to 16-0.

The second half of the game saw much of the same, with Meredith outscoring the Hawks 8-1. The Hawks lone goal of the game came from Kate Hudson at the 3:35 mark in the third quarter. 

Meredith played a complete game on each end of the field, shooting 68% on their shot attempts while holding Huntingdon to just 20%. Entering the final week of the regular season, the Avenging Angels sit in second place in the conference, looking to repeat their title from last season. Huntingdon is currently in the eighth spot in the conference, qualifying for the conference tournament.

The Hawks look to bounce back on April 27th at home for senior day against Southern Virginia. Gametime is scheduled for 11:00 AM CT.
