Huntingdon takes down NAIA Allen University

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Huntingdon men's wrestling team recorded two pins and won eight of 10 weight classes to knock off NAIA Allen University 40-9 on Wednesday.

The win was the first of the season and the fifth win during the Hawks' three seasons as a NCAA team.

Quintez Pearson (149 pounds) and Wyatt Miller (174) each recorded pins for the Hawks. Pierce Erhardt (165) won by major decision and Sam Garrison (157) and Austin Threatt (197) both won by decision. Ryan Brooks (125), Mason Blakeney (133) and DeAndre Beck (141) each won by forfeit.

Huntingdon returns to action at home on Jan. 14 against Brewton-Parker. The match is set for 3 p.m. in Wilson Gym.
