Huntingdon women’s soccer falls to Piedmont in double OT

DEMOREST, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team held Piedmont scoreless for more than 100 minutes on Saturday. But Piedmont scored in the second overtime to edge Huntingdon 1-0 in the 103rd minute.

The game was the fifth overtime game of the season for Huntingdon (3-10-1, 1-7-1 USA South) and the fourth double overtime game.

Piedmont, which is tied for second in the USA South Athletic Conference, took 23 shots to Huntingdon's three shots in the game. Huntingdon keeper Josie Byard denied Piedmont (12-2-1, 7-1-1 USA South) through regulation and the first overtime, recording 14 saves. Byard leads the USA South with 128 saves this season.

Clara Tapplin took two shots for Huntingdon and Kira Jo Bohlke took one shot.

Huntingdon travels to Wesleyan on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game.
