MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team is still in the first week of preseason practice, but third-year head coach Robert Milner believes the program is on an upward swing.

The addition of 11 new players has added enthusiasm and created more competition this preseason.

"I'm pleased with midfield position at the moment. We have a lot of options there," Milner said. "We are hoping to be more of an attacking team and to score more goals this season. That is an area where we were lacking last year."

Huntingdon opens the season on Aug. 29 with the first home night game in the history of the women's soccer program. The Lady Hawks host Warren Wilson at 7 p.m. at Samford Stadium.
