MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's and women's soccer programs welcomed a total of 38 players on Tuesday.

The Lady Hawks return nine players, eight starters, from last season and bring in seven freshmen. Huntingdon will hold its first practice at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday before closing out with practice at 4 p.m.

"We're excited to get to work," first-year head coach Matt Gill said. "Wednesday morning will be a good test to see where we are fitness wise and what we will need to improve on."

On the men's side, second-year head coach Matt Cooper returns 11 players while bringing in 11 newcomers. The Hawks open the preseason on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with a conditioning and technical session and hold their final practice of the day at 4 p.m.

"We have a great core group of returners and I'm excited for them to be back," Cooper said. "We are going to need some of the incoming guys to step up right away and I think there are some guys who will be able to do that.  I'm ready to get practiced started and see what we have."
