Brevard, NC.-The Huntingdon Women's Soccer team defeated Brevard, 1-0.
The only goal of the game came at 76:32, with Ashlyn Purvis executing on a pass by Madison Tryon. Purvis' 3rd goal of the season propels the Hawks to the quarterfinals.
Goalkeeper Kiki Culpepper made 6 saves and the Hawks offense totalled 11 shots.
"We couldn't be happier as a staff for this team working as hard as they did in that last 45 minutes," Head Coach Cliff Jordan said. "They definitely worked to get the result and excited for freshman Ashlyn Purvis to get a game winning goal so early in her career and at such a crucial moment in the season."
"Now time for us to rally the troops and get ready for a strong Methodist team this Saturday!" Jordan said.
The Hawks will travel to #1 seed Methodist on Saturday, October 30. Game time is set for 11:00 AM EST.
