Women’s Soccer Falls to Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. – Huntingdon Women's Soccer (0-1) fell in their season opener at Millsaps (1-0) with a score of 3-0.

Two quick saves in the first 15 minutes of the game by starting goalkeeper, Libby Williams, deemed success for the Hawks until a Millsaps corner kick led to a goal at the 20:55 mark.

Madison Tryon tried to answer with a shot that went high in the Hawks next possession. In the final five minutes of the first period the Hawks would get off two more shots on goal, one more from Tryon and another from Laney Bishop, but both would be saved by the Majors goalkeeper heading to halftime.

The Majors scored in the 46^th minute to start the second period and go up by two goals. The final goal for the Majors was scored in the 64^th minute and the Hawks were unable to battle back and push one past the goalie.

Huntingdon continues play tomorrow at Millsaps College against McMurray at 12:00 PM CT.
