Hawks Take Down Birmingham-Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala – Huntingdon Women's Soccer (1-2 overall) took down the Panthers of Birmingham-Southern (1-1-2 overall) for the first time in program history with a final score of 4-1.

The Hawks earned their first win of the season on the road against in-state rival, BSC.

Laney Bishop started the ten-minute scoring frenzy for the Hawks with an early penalty kick that she flung by the Panthers goalie.

Anaely Almeida was the next Hawk with a quick goal; in the tenth minute she flew one past the goalie, assisted by Joslyn Dahlberg.

Madison Tryon followed up Almeida's goal with another one in less than five minutes to push the Hawks up 3-0!

The final goal of the half came from the Panthers in the 43rd minute before heading to halftime 2-1, Hawks.

Bishop was the lone scorer in the second half with her second goal of the game in the 63rd minute.

In the net for the Hawks, Libby Williams asserted her dominance with eight saves on nine shots to benefit the Hawks defensively and help boost them to a win.
