Women’s Soccer Falls to Piedmont

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon Women's Soccer (4-6-1 overall, 2-2 CCS) lost to the Lions of Piedmont (5-5-2 overall, 3-1 CCS) with a final score of 4-0.

The Lions first goal came in the 14th minute after a wide header resulted in another shot opportunity to go up 1-0. Starting goalie Libby Williams had three saves in the first half but Piedmont's seven shots resulted in two goals, the second coming in the 35th minute.

In the second half Piedmont began with their third goal. Offensively, the Hawks three shots were not able to protrude the Lions defense. Anaely Almeida led the team with two shots on goal, however the Lions goalkeeper stood strong in the net. The final goal came in the 65th minute to finalize the Collegiate Conference of the South matchup.

The Hawks return to CCS action at Maryville College on Saturday at 4:00PM CT.
