Huntingdon’s Still and Thibodeau win doubles consolation finals
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon's team of Hannah Still and Britni Thibodeau closed out the USTA/ITA South Regional Championships by winning the doubles consolation finals on Sunday at Lagoon Park.
Still and Thibodeau beat Methodist's Isabella Graf and Hillary Petruska 6-3, 6-2 in the finals.
Emory University swept the main draw singles and doubles titles for a sixth straight year. Emory junior, and defending Division III national champion, Gabrielle Clark defeated teammate Jordan Wylie to win the singles title. In doubles, Clark teamed with freshman Emma Taylor to win the doubles championship.
As the tournament champions, Clark (singles and doubles) and Taylor (doubles) advance to the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships in Mobile on Oct. 11-14.
