Huntingdon defeats Division II Albany State

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team earned its fourth win in a row by defeating Division II Albany State 6-3 on Thursday.

The Lady Hawks (8-3) took an early 3-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of Dusty Catala and Mariah Bastos cruised to an 8-0 win while the No. 2 team of Clayton Waring and Caroline McBroom and the No. 3 team of Virginia Gaston and Jordan Fleming each won 8-1.

In singles play, Huntingdon split with the Golden Rams (3-11) as the Lady Hawks won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 singles.

Josie Waddell (No. 1) and Heather Tabor (No. 2) each won 6-0, 6-0. Fleming played at No. 5 and took a 6-2, 6-3 win.

Huntingdon travels to USA South opponent Salem College on Saturday for an 11 a.m. matchup.

No. 3: Gaston-Fleming (HC) def. Ruff-Gauthier (AS) 8-1
