Women’s tennis earns ITA academic honors
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team was recognized by the ITA this week with the release of the All-Academic teams and Scholar-Athletes.
Huntingdon was named an ITA All-Academic team for the 15th time in the past 17 seasons and seven Hawks (Lucy Burch, Ashley Burke, Madeline Creel, Kennedy Harp, Emma Moore, Allison Stegall and Alonda Weaver) were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Since 2004, Huntingdon has produced 70 ITA Scholar-Athletes. Burch, Burke and Moore are among 17 Hawks to earn the honor at least twice.
To qualify as an ITA Scholar Athlete, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a 3.50 GPA or higher and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters. The All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program with a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.
