Huntingdon volleyball picks up third win in four matches

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team dropped its first game Tuesday night but bounced back to win the match in four games.

The 19-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-15 win over Agnes Scott was the second straight victory for the Lady Hawks (3-7) and the third win in four matches.

"We got off to a slow start tonight, but we didn't give up and we got stronger as the match went on," Huntingdon head coach Amy Patterson said. "We have a young team, but we're playing together and we're playing better. With time, we're only going to get more consistent."

Kali Martin, Morgan Goodson and Rachel Dunlay combined for 35 of Huntingdon's 46 kills. Martin finished with 17 kills and 14 digs, Goodson added 10 kills and Dunlay totaled eight kills, 18 assists and 10 digs. Lexi Rangel recorded 25 assists and three aces, Lauren Condon had 34 digs and Bobie Wilson finished with 18 digs and three aces. Kalen Morgan recorded two solo blocks and a block assist.

Huntingdon returns to action in a USA South Athletic Conference tri-match at Piedmont on Saturday. The Lady Hawks play Piedmont at 11 a.m. and LaGrange at 1 p.m.
