Lady Hawks stumble in volleyball conference opener

DEMOREST, Ga. – The Huntingdon volleyball team opened play in the USA South Athletic Conference with a pair of losses on Saturday.

The Lady Hawks fell to Piedmont 25-13, 25-21, 25-14 in their first match and lost to LaGrange 25-13, 25-22, 25-18 in the second match. Piedmont (12-1, 2-0 USA South) defeated LaGrange (6-8, 1-1) in the third match of the day, 25-12, 25-20, 25-12.

Against Piedmont, Kali Martin had eight kills and nine digs for Huntingdon (3-9, 0-2) and Rachel Dunlay had 13 assists. Morgan Goodson, Dunlay and Ally Brislinger each finished with five kills. Lauren Condon recorded 17 digs and Lexi Rangel added eight assists and seven digs.

Brislinger and Kalen Morgan each had seven kills against Piedmont and Martin added six kills and 10 digs. Rangel and Dunlay both recorded 10 assists. Dunlay also had 11 digs and three aces. Bobie Wilson turned in 15 digs and Condon followed with 13 digs.

Huntingdon hosts Pensacola Christian on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
