MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Hawks volleyball split in their Collegiate Conference of the South tri-match today with Maryville and Wesleyan College. The Hawks dropped a close game one to Maryville 3-2 and defeated the Wolves of Wesleyan 3-0.
Game One Against Maryville 3-2:
The Hawks played the Scots in a tight five sets. The two teams traded scores in the first two sets with the final being 25-20 and then tied at 1-1 for the game.
Huntingdon took set three by 6 points at 25-19 but the Scots fought back with a close 25-22 win in the fourth.
Tied at two, the teams battled it out in the fifth set pushing it past the 15-point mark. The game finally concluded after a tipped ball resulted in the 16th Maryville point to lift them over the Hawks by 2.

Game Two Against Wesleyan 3-0:
The Hawks shut out the Wolves of Wesleyan as they more than doubled the amount of kills the opponent had each set.
With scores of 25-13, 25-15, and 25-17, Huntingdon Volleyball protected their home court. The team forced 8 Wolves errors in the third set and combined for 31 kills for the game compared to the Wesleyan's 13.
